British Nuclear Fuel

Powerful communications for a key handover report

British Nuclear Fuels plc is the parent company for Sellafield Ltd, British Nuclear Group Project Services and Nexia Solutions. In 2007, Engage designed and commissioned photography for their Corporate Responsibility Report.

The report was an important reflection on how BNFL and its individual businesses have engaged on a multitude of environmental, safety and social issues with many stakeholders. Following a series of transfers and business sales, the report also set out proposed changes to the structure of BNF, ultimately ending in its closure.

Engage developed a powerful visual theme for the report – footprints in the sand. A series of photographs of a woman walking along a beach were featured on the report’s cover and on each of the individual inserts. The images bringing to mind the obvious environmental concept of a “carbon footprint,” but also signifying the valuable legacy of effective corporate responsibility that BNFL leaves to its separate businesses.

TOTAL

A solid working partnership based around Courier North Magazine and an HR consultancy service

Since the mid-1970s, Aberdeen-based TOTAL’s Exploration & Production unit (TEP UK) has been at the forefront of the North Sea oil and gas industry and, for the past decade, Engage has enjoyed a great working relationship with the oil giant.

The relationship began with the launch of a quarterly magazine – Courier North – in 1997 but it was not long before the relationship developed to encompass training and consultancy with their in-house HR team.

In 2000, two became one when Total Fina and Elf came together and the Engage team were tasked with conducting a merger survey among both onshore and offshore employees.

Courier North has remained the bedrock of a very solid relationship, continuing to educate, inform and inspire those within TEP UK and key external stakeholders.

Regular Courier Extra newsletters continue to provide an ideal platform in which to profile individual teams and highlight major projects and company milestones.
