O2

Using second-generation web technology to engage with O2 people

O2 has appointed Engage Group to help refresh its internal communication channels in the UK business.

Based on extensive audience research and stakeholder consultation, Engage is helping O2 create a fresh suite of internal communication channels to engage its people in new compelling ways. Initial ideas include exploring how web 2.0 tools can enable O2 people to customise content and delivery methods.

“With a diverse audience spread across many locations in the UK, effective and innovative channels play a key role in our communication strategy at O2,“ said Head of Internal Communication, James Allen. “Engage Group’s focus on putting audiences first and designing concepts, messaging and delivery methods around our specific needs will be integral to making our new channels a success.”

Airbus

Reviving staff morale and enhancing the visitor experience at Airbus

Airbus enlisted the help of Engage to create a working environment that would inspire people through their brand, company, facilities and people. In short, Engage needed to a) improve the company’s internal image, and b) enhance the Airbus experience for visitors.

Following extensive research, including workshops with internal employee and external visitor stakeholders, Engage presented Airbus communications and management teams with a recommended communications strategy based around the ethos of ‘inspiring people, inspiring innovation’.

As a result of our recommendations for the UK, our work is currently being considered by Airbus in Europe (France, Germany and Spain) in a whole Airbus ‘Inspire’ approach designed to create deep engagement with employees and visitors through more effective communication.

NATS

Setting up a communication and engagement agenda

NATS is the UK’s leading provider of air traffic control. Their tight management of the UK skyways keeps air crews and passengers safe every day.

Over the last five years NATS has emerged from a nationalised service to become a commercially run organisation; it has experienced fundamental change, significant restructuring, the arrival of a new CEO and the creation and launch of a new brand.

Throughout this period Engage has been helping in the background, most recently working with the internal communication team to help set the communication and engagement agenda for the future.

Through personal coaching of the communications director, and by working with the internal communication specialists in a series of team sessions, Engage helped to significantly improve direction and determination within the team.

We also identified the key approaches required to support the continued development of NATS as it takes its place competing and working in an ever more global environment.
